still no update on a job...

Last week, I had a total of 3 interviews in the bay area. Monday I had an interview at a place called MMC Technology. It's a network administrator position that would be a graveyard shift, 3 days a week position. I would basically babysit the servers and users for 36 hours a week, and have 4 day weekend every week. Sounds like a great job.
The second interview was at a place called Uptilt. They make spam. My job would be to help create the spam. Basically I would be fixing HTML code all day. No thanks. They emailed me today and said someone else got the job. No biggie.
Wednesday I went in for a second interview with the hiring manager at MMC Technology. He liked me, said the other manager liked me from the 1st interview, and that he thinks I would work out. He shook my hand, showed me the place, introduced me to the other techs there, and the other manager said they had one more person to check out. Well, Friday I still had no final word. Monday I had no final word (well, I was outta town all day, but no calls on my cell phone from the staffing agency...)
So tomorrow, I will send out another barrage of resumes, and call the staffing company for an update. I really want this job. I really need this job. I know I can do this job perfectly. Why won't they just hire me already and put me to work?
Friday I swung by Sunnyvale to fill out all the paperwork at the staffing agency; (tax forms, waivers, forms, apps, etc., just in case the hiring manager gives them the final approval to put me on.) On the way from Sunnyvale to Modesto, I hit something in the road, like a piece of ducting or whatever. It must've flown out of a contractor's truck or something.
It was on 580 in Dublin. I fucking hate that area. Traffic is always at a standstill, and the majority of the traffic is either truckers unnessicarilly changing lanes, asshole laborers changing lanes, soccer moms in SUVs changing lanes, or Jahib and Zawdat H1B Visa immigrant trash in their 500-dollar-gross-polluting-not-going-nowhere-because-they-can't-read-directions-or-drive vehicles. So yea, I hit something when traffic eased up. It was completely unavoidable. I was tooting along at 65mph and it appears out from under the van in front of me. Do I brake? No, I would've hit it anyways. Do I swerve? No, that would be stupid. I had to hit it, and now I will either have to get my bumper stripped/painted, or bear that eyesore of which is not my fault and is in fact somebody elses.

*sigh* It could be worse. My bumper could be cracked. The fiberglass could have splintered, but this can easily be rectified by stripping, smoothing, and painting. When this happens, I will have them fill in the poorly-drilled license plate mounting holes. Who the hell did that? Gawd. Why didn't Ford have a mounting bracket there?
