.well-known/security.txt

Security Researcher Detected: You might have ended up here because your site vulnerability scanner found something interesting. Hi! I'm a security engineer and I'm having a good time interacting with the people and bots that are interested in information security.

You will hopefully find this site is well-secured and I'm not interested in being hacked. I'm interested in learning about how people try to hack me, though.

What is this endpoint?

.well-known/security.txt

A proposed standard that allows websites to define security policies.

What an attacker could do

This is a benign, intentionally public file that publishes security contact details; it poses no direct risk, though scanners read it to fingerprint disclosure policy and contact addresses.

How to defend it

Serve a valid, current security.txt with a working contact and expiry date; no hardening is needed beyond keeping the listed contacts and PGP key accurate.
