What an attacker could do
An exposed Ollama generate endpoint lets anyone run arbitrary prompts against locally hosted models for free, exhausting GPU/CPU resources and enabling abuse such as content generation or prompt-injection probing.
How to defend it
Bind Ollama to localhost only or place it behind an authenticating reverse proxy with allowlisted IPs, and never expose the 11434 API port directly to the internet.
