Security Researcher Detected: You might have ended up here because your site vulnerability scanner found something interesting. Hi! I'm a security engineer and I'm having a good time interacting with the people and bots that are interested in information security.

You will hopefully find this site is well-secured and I'm not interested in being hacked. I'm interested in learning about how people try to hack me, though.

Ansible

What an attacker could do

An exposed Ansible playbook can reveal inventory hosts, task logic, file paths, and any inline variables or vault references, disclosing infrastructure layout and sometimes hardcoded secrets used for provisioning. This gives an attacker a blueprint of the deployment and privileged hosts.

How to defend it

Keep Ansible playbooks and inventories out of any web-served directory, store secrets in Ansible Vault rather than inline, and restrict repository access so deployment automation is never publicly reachable.
