nextcloud/data/nextcloud.log

Security Researcher Detected: You might have ended up here because your site vulnerability scanner found something interesting. Hi! I'm a security engineer and I'm having a good time interacting with the people and bots that are interested in information security.

You will hopefully find this site is well-secured and I'm not interested in being hacked. I'm interested in learning about how people try to hack me, though.

What is this endpoint?

nextcloud/data/nextcloud.log

Nextcloud

What an attacker could do

If the data directory is web-served, this log file leaks usernames, internal file paths, IP addresses, and error traces, and an exposed data root may also allow direct download of users' stored files.

How to defend it

Keep the Nextcloud data directory outside the web root, enforce the bundled .htaccess/nginx deny rules that block access to data/, and run the built-in security check to confirm the path is unreachable.
