app_dev.php/_profiler/phpinfo

Security Researcher Detected: You might have ended up here because your site vulnerability scanner found something interesting. Hi! I'm a security engineer and I'm having a good time interacting with the people and bots that are interested in information security.

You will hopefully find this site is well-secured and I'm not interested in being hacked. I'm interested in learning about how people try to hack me, though.

What is this endpoint?

app_dev.php/_profiler/phpinfo

Symfony

What an attacker could do

The Symfony dev front controller combined with the profiler's phpinfo panel exposes the full PHP and application configuration, environment variables, and absolute paths, giving an attacker a detailed blueprint for further exploitation.

How to defend it

Never deploy app_dev.php or the dev front controller to production; remove it from the webroot, set APP_ENV=prod, and block /_profiler routes at the web server.
