About This Game
The original Gorillas was a turn-based artillery game written in QBasic by IBM and bundled with MS-DOS 5.0. Two gorillas stood atop buildings and took turns throwing explosive bananas at each other. It was many people's first experience with computer gaming.
This version recreates the experience with HTML5 Canvas. Features include procedurally generated cityscapes with destructible buildings, wind physics that affect banana trajectories, an animated sun that reacts to near-misses, and a score tracker. You play as "NERD" against the AI "APE."
Strategy Tips
Watch the wind indicator arrow at the top of the screen — strong wind can push your banana far off course. Start with medium power (around 50-60%) and adjust from there. Buildings are destructible, so a near-miss will carve out terrain for your next shot.
