New Bulls & Cows Solvers: Woodle and 4digits
I've got a soft spot for Bulls & Cows puzzles. You guess, and instead of per-letter colors you just get two counts: how many symbols are exactly right, and how many are the right symbol in the wrong spot. After building a Hardle solver a while back, two more of these crossed my desk, so the family grew.
Woodle - Bulls & Cows with words
Woodle is the word version: a 5-letter target, one guess at a time, scored as a green count (right letter, right spot) stacked over a yellow count (right letter, wrong spot). It's close to Hardle, but the indicators sit in a different order, so it got its own tuned build. Enter each guess and the two counts, and the Woodle solver narrows the list to every word still consistent with your clues, ranks the best next guesses, and dims the letters that can no longer appear.
4digits - Bulls & Cows with numbers
4digits is the original, numeric flavor: the secret is a 4-digit number with all distinct digits, and each guess scores as "xAyB" - A bulls (correct digit in the correct place) and B cows (correct digit in the wrong place). There are only 5,040 possible numbers, so the 4digits solver generates them all in your browser and filters down fast, usually to a handful within four or five guesses.
How they work
Both solvers do the same thing under the hood: keep every candidate whose score against each of your past guesses exactly matches what the game reported, then rank the survivors by which guess splits the remaining field best. They dim the letters or digits that can't appear anymore and show a little worklog of how fast the pool is shrinking. No accounts, no ads, all client-side.
Both join the growing pile of word and number game solvers on the site, alongside Wordle, Hardle, Don't Wordle, Poople, and Jeffgoldblumle.
